I was surprised that half of the book was devoted to taking care of her father, I wasn't expecting that detail. In fact, I thought that this was a missed opportunity for an appeal for the Family Care Act. While she worked for the company on occasion for 18 hour days for 6 months, then when she needed understanding was essentially said to have low concern for her job. I thought the book was well written but to some extent felt that the impact on her immediate family was treated rather casually. The comment that the daughter made that she wanted to live somewhere two years before she graduated indicated the family had moved around frequently and the children were expected to accept this. She was fortunate to inherit a large farm and have an alternate future. Kelly was exceptional at setting goals and attaining them. Her husband is/was a saint!Product details

One of the most honest, inspiring, and uplifting books I have read. Kelli Miller shows us all the importance of being true to who you are and choosing what happiness is for every person individually. The struggles and joys that she went through connects us all.
Examing your life and deciding to take action requires courage. Actually taking action requires courage and commitment. I applaud Kelli's courage and commitment to reaffirming her values and making life changes to align the way she lives to what is truly important. Well written; you feel you are on the journey with Kelli and what you feel you feel deeply. I'm looking forward to Kelli's next book.
I loved how this novel was full of great advice and solid examples. I didn't feel like I was being told how to do something by someone who didn't have legitimate facts backing them up, real world experience.
I think you need to go into reading this with somewhat of a clear head. It's a nice novel to step away with and clear your mind to new ideas and thinking.
I've been told never to plan too strictly because life tends to do what it wants. Life can throw you a curveball in the blink of an eye. Split Second is a book about how Kelli Miller learned to deal with the curveballs that life threw at her.
This was a powerful book that really makes you step back and take a look at your own life. Definitely a good read.
