What an interesting, sweet, paranormal/fantasy short story.The story begins normal enough with introductions to Sean and Kaley who've lived next door to each other in their apartment complex for five years. In that time, they've only shared a wall and polite conversations. But it's when Kaley's fiance up and leaves that their relationship changes. They become friends whose feelings for one another evolve into something more, something deeper. Agreeing to pose as a couple at a Christmas party seems innocent enough, but I wondered how long they'd keep quiet about their feelings when it became more and more obvious that their hearts were more involved than I think they were aware of.
But the deeper issue wasn't their feelings. It was the truth about Sean, what he was, where he was from, why he was going back. This is where the story turns from contemporary to paranormal and fantasy.
Because of Sean's sister's drunken actions, he has to return home to Quelondian with his girlfriend Kaley. Problem is they were only pretending and it was only supposed to be for a night. Now it has to be for a week in a place Kaley doesn't know exists where "normal" isn't her kind of "normal".
It was neat to see genres entwined so nicely. Sean is a shifter, but Quelondian is a parallel universe where cows lay eggs, mammoth like creatures are carnivores, moving between Earth and Quelondian requires crossing stones, etc. Ms. Chester invites the reader to imagine the impossible as possible, the unbelievable as believable with this story.
There are parts that could have been expanded on, where more depth and detail could have been added, but the lack of "meat", I guess you could say, didn't keep me from enjoyed it. I do hope to read more about Quelondian and Sean's family. I also hope those stories include an appearance or two by Sean and Kaley.

The story line and concept of this story was cute but was confusing at times. I don't know if I would call it Paranomal, probably more fantasy than paranormal. Yes it had shifters in it but had I guess what you would call an alternate dimension maybe where things are different....cows that lay eggs....that sort of thing and you need cross stones to find it.
This was a multi pov (which I love) but Sean's POV was written in 3rd person where Kaley's POV was written in 1st person. This made the story hard to read in my opinion.
Had this been written in either 1st or 3rd person, the story would have flowed better.
This was a very short read (took me just over an hour) and could have used a lot more meat to the story. So much more could have been added to make this a longer, more indepth book. I missed seeing more of Sean's POV. His POV seemed to read better than Kaley's. Not sure if it was because of his POV being 3rd person or if it was just written better.
All in all, it was a cute read. As a beta reader/content editor, I wish I had gotten my hands on this book before it was released. There are lots of suggestions that I would have made that I think could have added to this story.
Would I recommend this book? If you have an hour to kill and want a "sweet" read, then Yes.
Would I read more from this author? Probably.

Eggnog kisses by Mireille Chester
I took this book on not knowing nothing about the author or genre. Actually not even knowing what Eggnog kisses was about. Funny thing is it's so out of my element to not know author or genera. I'm glad I did open up to different world.
Kayley engaged living with her fiancé Gale they are neighbors with Sean. Never really having connection with there neighbor Sean for the past 5 years they have been neighbors. One day at the park Sean witness Gale cheating on his fiancée Gale.
Next thing Gale packed his bags and left Kaley. Sean the neighbor heard her cries and knowing she locked herself up in apartment for the week devastated over her fiancée leaving her. But Sean lost how does he confront her where they don't know each other on that he left note and bag of cheese scones at the door. Kayley's best friend Mel came over to house to cheer her up and seen the neighbor dropping of scones how awesome sweet he was.
Kayley and Sean ended up setting up a photoshoot since Sean was a photographer and Kayle was a author they spent a morning together with horses.
--Im telling you it confused me, so I just kept on reading...
The next day Kayle best friend and her went out shopping because Mel invited her to go with her guy friend and her to Xmas party at this party she knowing she be third wheel.
Sean sister sent SOS out needing him at a bar kayleh and Sean went to bar and Sean sister surprised Kayle was with him thinking he was alone. Sean's sister told his mom that Sean having girlfriend and coming home Sean didn't want to let his mom down so he asked Kayle for favor to go home with him holidays.
So they ventured on the long trip to Sean's home for week, not knowing how things would go.
Ok they arrived at abandoned house they had to walk the rest of way to house Sean unsure how this will go since he did not tell her he is a shifter his whole family going to be there they arrived at location met up with his family. His lil niece was so excited to show Sean his new powers and that is how Kayle found out omg she was scared.
Sean explained of his powers and said will protect her she felt safe
And then.... there was a cow that laid eggs!
So, Sean had to go out with his family in the woods to protect something.
At this time, Kayley falling in love with him and his mom explained the shifter life. She was falling for him and worried when they were out in the woods.
Anyway Sean returned hurt, Kayleigh nurses him back to health and informed him she was staying. She fell in love with him and they drank eggnog because it was around Christmas that the story's timeline was set.
I guess the part that threw me the most was the title. I didn't pay attention too much to the cover and hadn't read any blurbs or a synopsis before reading this book for review. Woah! Shifters? ummm it wasn't until the end that "eggnog kisses" made sense....when they actually drank some. LOL-Review by Jenn
